I have been a safety officer in DARE since September of 2020. A year later I became the president of the safety board for two years. In my time as a safety officer at Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering (DARE), I have managed the licensing, transport, production, and use of pyrotechnic devices ranging from small wire cutters to large 50 kg solid rocket motors.
This means handling reviewing designs, and providing constructive feedback, as well as saying no. At DARE we are very proud of having a strong safety record, and I worked very hard to keep it that way.
I was one of the founding members of project sparrow, which designed and tested the first cryogenic liquid rocket in the Netherlands. In this project, we worked with hundreds of kilograms of liquid oxygen. I worked extensively on ensuring we could conduct our test campaigns safely.
